The Testicle Tour 2010
The Testicle Tour and 208 of it's male supporters set a new Guinness world record for "the largest simultaneous self-check for testicular cancer" at Clacton Factory Outlet.
The world record was part of a football family fun day that Darren and Richard organised. On the day fun included David Beckham and Sven Goren Eriksson lookalikes, tricks and shows by professional football freestyler and holder of 4 world records Dan Magness, a football speed cage and many more football themed stalls and attractions.
However the highlight was the 208 men and kids of all ages who were brave enough to stand in public carrying out a self check of their testicles. Top urologist in Essex Mr Corr addressed the group to show them how to carry out a proper self examination. Eddie the Eagle, the Colchester United mascot, also joined in the world record attempt.
The day itself attracted around 3000 people and The Testicle Tour raised around £1200 on the day for The Everyman Male Cancer Campaign. However the biggest success to come out of the event was that many people left the shopping village much more aware of testicular cancer and how to carry out a proper self check of their testicles.
The Testicle Tour would like to thank everyone who took part in the record and a special thanks to our loyal band of volunteers who helped us on the day. We couldn't do this without your support. Also thanks to Sara, Alan and Leanne at Clacton Factory Outlet for their help and support.
7 weeks after the record attempt, we were very proud to receive the official certificate from Guinness to confirm that The Testicle Tour and its supporters are world record holders.
